“I knew I wanted pictures of this home birth with my second baby, but when birthing, especially at home, the energy needs to be just right and I wasn’t sure having a stranger in my home taking pictures during one of the most magical moments in my life would be comfortable. Let me tell you it couldn’t have been more perfect. Alexis was in contact with my everyday leading up to the birth, checking in with me to make sure she could be here, and when my daughter decided to take her sweet time and come a week late, Alexis was still here right at the perfect time. She got here and almost just slipped right in, never changing the vibe, never in the way or intrusive, yet still managed to get so many unbelievable photos which I am so fortunate and grateful for. To be able to document this beautiful and raw experience of birthing at home is just so amazing. I cannot recommend having Alexis at your birth, not only will she make you feel comfortable with her presence but Alexis is amazing at what she does, and that’s capturing the feelings and raw emotion in her photographs. Natural birthing can be an out of body experience, it is unlike anything, labor takes a certain focus where you really go into yourself for the strength and concentration needed - because of this you don’t always remember all of it. Having Alexis here was a beautiful way to document and remember such a profound experience. My only regret is not having her at my first birth”
